Sravasti is located 34 km from Balrampur and 134 km from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The city believed to be founded by the mythological king Sravast. Temple No-2
The Temple No-2 is the site of the ruins of the Gandha-Kuti or Perfumed Chamber built by Anathapindika for the Buddha's use. The original Gandha-Kuti was made of wood but by the time of the Chinese pilgrims, a two-storeyed brick building in a ruinous condition was found. Today only the low walls and stone plinth are left.
Temple No-3
Temple No-3 is supposed to be the site of the original Kosambi-Kuti. Anathapindika built this as well as the meditation room for Buddha. There is a long platform in the front marking the site of the original promenade used by the Buddha for walking meditation.
Ananda Bodhi Tree
The Ananda Bodhi tree is located near the entrance of Jetavana Garden. It was planted at the request of Anathapindika as an object for worship during the Buddha's absence from Sravasti.
