Spituk gompa dates back to 15th century, houses a collection of ancient masks, antique arms, icons and numerous thankas. The Gompa is also visited for its shrines of Hindu Goddess Kali & of Tantrik Deity Vajra Bhairava. Every year in the month of January, a large number of visitors as well as the Buddhist pilgrims explore the gompa in its annual festival. A sacred dance by the global people also forms a part of the celebrations. At that time only the travelers are able to get a glimpse of some rare statues of Buddha.

By air: Spituk is situated 8 km from the town of Leh .it has an airport with flights at regular intervals to different states of India
By Rail: Leh (8 km from Spituk) provides Rail service to all the other states of India.
By Bus: Bus, taxi, cab and Jeep are available from Leh, very close from Spituk monastery.
