Kardang Monastery

Kardang Monastery is a decisive Buddhist Pilgrimage site located at a distance of 5 km from Keylong. A wide assortment of tangkhas, wall paintings, musical instruments, and weapons of 12th century makes the travellers visit more momentous and significant. Established about 900 years back, Kardang Monastery offers a huge library and a vast drum for its visitors. The architecture of the monastery represents the style which classically belongs to Lahaul and Spiti. Kardang Monastery was almost in ruins, until Lama Norbu refurbished it in the year 1912.
