Gemur Monastery

Himachal Pradesh offers some of the best Buddhist Monasteries in India, Gemur is significant among them. The striking sculpture of 'Marichi Vajravarahi' within the monastery belongs to 11th to 12th centuries AD and is a prominent part of Buddhist tourism in Himachal Pradesh. Located in Lahaul, Gemur is well known for the figures of the goddesses. Positioned at Keylong in 'Bhaga Valley' Gemur Monastery is also widely visited for organizing devil dance during July.

How to reach Gemur Monastery

Lahaul is connected with all parts of the country by road.  Manali is the center point where you get buses from various stations. From here, the visitors can take bus/taxi to any other place in Lahaul-Spiti.
